Christmas gifts

What a snowy Saturday we are having, we are now in the 8-13 inch range. So glad we don't need to go out today, can't wait to get some great pics! Just thought I'd share a pic of a Christmas card I made for my co-workers. I made several different versions, but I forgot and sealed all of the envelopes! So this is the only one I could show. Then I made journals for all of the women in my Sunday School class. I promised myself that I'd use what I had, so that is why they are all different. I like some better than others, but overall I'm pleased with how they turned out, the great thing about making gifts for people who don't scrap is that they don't care if your paper is one day old or two years old. Well, I better go finish up some house cleaning so we can play in the snow! Thanks for looking

Avon and SPCC

Well, TGIF! So glad the weekend is here, and only one week until the big day! I plan on making some chocolate chips and some peanut butter fudge tonight. Yum! We're expecting some snow here this weekend, I made sure to stop and get some new snow boots for the girls. Luckily they weren't too hard to find.

Anyway, I thought I'd share a card I made for this weeks challenge at SPCC. The colors are pumpkin pie, bordering blue, and always artichoke. I haven't been able to do much with this lately, so I was glad to get the chance.

Also I don't want to forget to tell you that I'm officially selling AVON again. I used to sell it years ago, and I thought it might be a way to earn a few extra bucks with products I use. So now I need all of you to check it out! You can order online 24/7 at www.youravon.com/brigittekowalski

Thanks for looking!

A busy December

Wow! Can't believe it's been so long since I've posted. Sorry, time just seems to be flying by. I don't really have much scrappy stuff to share. I've made a few things, but I'll have to get the pics taken and loaded later this week. Just thought I'd hare a few pics from the girls plays and musicals.

Teachers Gifts

Hi, hope you all had a great Thanksgiving! We had a nice day, quiet, just the four of us. We didn't head back to Pittsburgh because the girls were in the church play on Sunday and they had dress rehearsal Friday and Sat. All of their hard work paid off, it was a fantastic night, and everyone did wonderfully.

I haven't had time to work on any challenges, I've been busy making projects for Christmas gifts. I made these two for my girls teachers, I only wish that I'd been able to get another apple. I love that. I decorated it the whole way around so that it can sit on her desk. Well, I'll be back later this week . I am getting to go to a crop on Sat., so hopefully I can get more accomplished there. I also have a few more items ready, but I'm a little short on time now. Thanks for looking. Have a great evening.

Spcc #24 and 52 sketches....52 weeks#46

Happy Friday everyone! I'm looking forward to a night in tonight, which is a change for us. Turns out that our Bible study group has been cancelled for tonight, so we just have to be at the church in the morning for play practice. It's hard to believe that the play is next weekend! I hope it goes well for them, they've really worked hard.

Anyway, just thought I'd show an 8 x 8 page I did for SPCC and for 52 sketches...52 weeks. The colors for SPCC were: bashful blue, real red, and certainly celery. The LO is of my step-sister with her maltese(Ashley). The cardstock is Bazzill, the flower sticker is by Making Memories, the chipboard backing around the photo is Maya Road and the foam alpha stickers are from the dollar section at Target. I can't remember who the patterend paper is by.Head on over to their sites and check them out, lots of great talent there. Have a great weekend!

Finally Friday at SPCC

Just thought I'd share a canvas I did for the Friday challenge at SPCC. The challenge was to alter something. I painted this canvas, then added dew drops and transparent stickers, glitter and a button. The letters are some very old alphas that I finally had chance to use, I knew they'd come in handy someday:)

We have quite a busy week here, soccer party, play practice, bible study, and had dinner guests last night. Also got to go see Stars Wars in concert for John's B-day on Sunday in Philly. It was great, not too keen on how high our seats were, but we got used to it. We received two great packages from my mom and sister packed full of crafting goodies, the girls and I are having a blast!

Please keep my step-dad in your prayers. He had heart surgery today, haven't heard any news yet.

Oh! before I go, just wanted to let you know of a GREAT site! It's www.challengemasters.ning.com There are tons of great ideas and groups. I joined the altered group. Check it out, there's something for everyone. Have a great evening.

Christmas Combo #13 and Matryoshka Dolls

Whew! It's Saturday already, this is the first day in months that we haven't had to be anywhere. Actually Talia's last soccer game was today, but she isn't allowed to play so that's what kept us home. Besides, it's rainy and dreary here today. Makes for a perfect crafting day. First, I did a card for SPCC. The colors were, not quite navy, whisper white and pale plum. There are great challenges each week. You should really give it a try! I can't wait to post on the challenge from Friday!

Next, I just had some fun making this fold out card of matryoshka dolls. I have always loved these! Never had any though, so when I saw this tutorial on Scrapscene,(http://www.scrapscene.com/) I had to give it a try. I'm happy with the result, hope you've enjoyed looking

SPCC #23

Well, I'm actually ahead of schedule for this one! I really liked the color combo this week. I did a scrapbook page about my step-grandmothers 90th birthday.

Turns out the dog is ok, he has colitis, got a few shots and some meds so he is on the mend. Talia is back to school, she can't carry anything. She's still pretty sore, so now we play the waiting game. I'll just be relieved when everything is over. Thanks for looking, have a great day!

Christmas Combo #9

Just remembered that I didn't share the card I made for combo #9. I thought the colors worked well together. Thanks for looking.

SPCC #22-Blessings in Disguise

I'm very behind this week. It's been a crazy week for us. My oldest daughter was hurt in her soccer game last Wed. and to make a long story short, it turned out to be a blessing in disguise. We were unaware that she has serious heart defects and if this injury had not happened, then we would not have known until it could have been too late. So Thank God for that game. She will have to have heart surgery, but should recover just fine and be able to do all she wants.

Now onto SPCC. I really didn't get to spend the time doing what I wanted for this, so I just made a little note to send to a neighbor. Hopefully this week will be a little smoother. The dog has been up sick all night and now is bleeding! So I have to have him at the vet in an hour, I hope I still have a job to go back to, wish us luck!! I really can't afford any more!!Thanks for looking and letting me vent! Have a great day.

Day of the Dead-Talia"s skeleton

Just wanted to share Talia's skeleton. She was chosen as one of three students in her Spanish class to have her skeleton shown at the high school for the day of the dead celebration. We stopped by last night to see it. It was too high up to get a pic of her with it, so I'll have to do that after she gets it back. There was a very nice display of the students work, very touching.

On another note today is my hubby's birthday, so lucky for me we get to go out for dinner!!!

SPCC Christmas Combo #10

Hello and Happy Halloween!! Hope everyone has a safe and fun evening. I thought I'd do a quick post before everything begins. I know--a Christmas card on Halloween, but you can't start too early for me. I LOVE Christmas! I used Basic Grey for the patterned paper and the poinsettia is prima. Well, hope you have a spooktacular night!!!

SPCC #21

Hello, I thought I'd share the card I did this week for SPCC. The colors were-bravo burgundy, ruby red and creamy caramel. For some reason I COULD NOT get a good picture!! It is very simple, but every time I tried adding something it looked cluttered. I used foam squares to make the middle square and leaf stand out. Thanks for looking.

52sketches...52weeks #43

Good morning, I thought I'd try to post before I have to get to work. Still having a tough time with Sam, (our dog) having separation anxiety, hopefully the vet can help. I never know what I'm coming home to anymore. If anybody has any helpful tips, I'm all ears.

I loved this weeks sketch on 52 sketches ..52 weeks. I've been trying to figure out what to do with these pics of Jade's new retainer. I've had the sassafrass paper for a while now. This just seemed to fit well.

OOh!! I almost forgot, I've been chosen for a RAK from SPCC for world card making day! I'm so excited! I'll have to share my package when it comes. See you later---

Trick or Treat

Another beautiful day here in PA, though I do have a nasty migraine. Hopefully it will be gone soon. I thought I'd share pics of the girls in their costumes. Talia doesn't get to dress up this year for school, but we live only a few blocks from a huge outlet center. They had trick or treating for the kids on Sat. Everyone was just crazy for Talia's costume. She was a Hershey's Kiss and Jade was a Hollywood Starlet. Well, I have lots to do this evening, Dr's appts and sports practices, not to mention dinner! Thanks for looking.

SPCC Christmas Combo #7

Hi! What a beautiful day, on my way home from work I caught the temp and it was 73! Just thought I'd share a card I did for SPCC. I used the snowflake embossing folder from cuttlebug and then used pop dots on the blue paper, the snowflake is acrylic with a dew drop on it. I finished it off by adding stickles to the embossing. Thanks, have a great evening.

SPCC #20

Good morning to all. It's a cool brisk day here in PA, thankfully not raining. I love fall. This weeks color combo at SPCC is perfect for a fall LO or card. I thought I'd share a LO I made showing my youngest picking out mini pumpkins at the orchard. I have to say I didn't come up with the idea of basic tree on my own, but it is fabulous! I saw a woman using the cricuit to make it at a ScrapPink crop last month.I've included a pic to show the dimension of the pop dots also. Thanks for looking.

Happy Friday and SPCC #19

Hello and Happy Friday to all! It's cold and rainy here in PA. We're enjoying just staying home this evening, a good chance to catch up housework. Anyway, I once again participated in this weeks color combo at SPCC. I made this card for a co-workers birthday. I love using those embossing templates from cuttlebug and even better that they work with my sizzix machine. Thanks for looking.

Finally Friday Challenge SPCC

Happy Saturday everyone. We had soccer games bright and early this morning, yes, in the rain, but they did well. Now we just have to see what tomorrow brings, wish us luck!! Now, onto the challenge-- this week for the Finally Friday challenge at SPCC was to use flowers! I absolutely love using flowers, can't get enough! I was needing to make an anniversary card for my mom and step dad, so this was the perfect opportunity. Hopefully she isn't seeing this ahead of time! I just used green card stock, paper from collage press, a fiskars punch and flowers from K and Co. and of course the mini alphas--I'm totally addicted to those! TFL!!

SPCC #18

Happy TGIF to everyone! We have a long weekend here for Columbus Day. I'm looking forward to it. It's pretty dreary here right now, though I'd rather it rain now than tomorrow. Talia plays in a soccer tournament this weekend. We have two games on Sat. and two on Sun. and of course ours is the first game in the morning. (7:30 am), so I'm hoping the rain holds off until afternoon.

So back to card making. This weeks colors for SPCC were not quite navy, soft suede, and dusty durango. I thought I'd make a birthday card since I need one to send to my nephew. Just used card stock a small piece of patterned paper, I inked the edges with brown ink and used pop dots and brads for the happy birthday. Thanks for looking!
